Nevada State has made some updates to the current regulations regarding how businesses must handle the storage and transportation of personal information. The new law mandates that storage devices containing personal information and are moved beyond the controls of the business must use an encryption code.This law takes effect January 2010.
Along with this regulation comes a new law regarding Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This law states that any business collecting payment for sales of service or goods via a payment card must comply with the PCI DSS.
